How we began:
For some time, the talk around the water cooler centered on the thought there should be an organization for all Fleetwood motor home owners. So, after considerable discussion among several parties, it was decided to present a proposal to Fleetwood Enterprises, Inc. that would provide an organization to which the owners of all 21 Fleetwood motor homes. Through area rallies, the owners would be able to come together for camaraderie, fun, fellowship, view new motor homes and even receive service on their motor homes, provided by Fleetwood technicians.
The Proposal:
On 23 September 2007, an Email was sent to Paul Eskritt, the President of the Fleetwood RV Group, asking to meet with him to present a proposal that would establish a Fleetwood Motorhome Association that would include all Fleetwood and American Coach Products. The invitation was accepted and on 27 September, 2007 at Calistoga California, the proposal was presented by Ron and Carolyn Haworth and Bob and Margaret Harker. The Harker's and Haworth's presented the proposal that included:
1) The development of an organization that would provide Fleetwood Enterprises, Inc. a means to have a national and two regional rally annually for all Fleetwood and American Coach motor home owners.
2) The members of the owners group will provide assist for rally site suggestion.
3) Assist with the rally plans and programs.
4) We stated that we would develop bylaws and association guidelines and submit to Fleetwood for review.
This proposal was accepted and specifics were discussed concerning costs, membership and organization. In accepting the proposal, Fleetwood Enterprise, Inc. agreed to sponsor the organization and interim officers volunteered to assume the leadership of what will be known as the Fleetwood Motorhome Association (FMA). The governing documents for the association were prepared and approved by the interim Board of Directors.
The interim officers would serve until a formal election could be held in June 2009.

Coming Together:
As with all great plans, further discussions were needed for additional clarification of the organizational procedures as originally presented. After almost four months delay, a request was made for Ron and Carolyn Haworth and Bob and Margaret Harker to meet with the Corporate Officers to discuss the proposal once again. On 11 January, 2008, a meeting was held at the corporate offices of Fleetwood Enterprises, Inc. in Riverside, CA with Paul Eskritt, RV Group President, Amy Coleman, Marketing Director and Dawn Fann, Event Coordinator. The discussion that followed centered around the conclusion that Fleetwood Enterprises, Inc. could not put on a major rally without the help, advice and assistance of the FMA members. It was further agreed that any owner of a Fleetwood motor home would be eligible to join the association without any fees or dues. A joint agreement was reached that would allow Fleetwood Enterprises, Inc. to help sponsor and support three rallies annually. With the advice and assistance of the members of the FMA, three rallies would be held annually, two of them in the winter/spring time with, one rally in the Western area, one rally in the Eastern area and a Summer Gala National Rally located in the Central part of the United States.
The Board of Directors will consist of the above officers with the addition of three at-large representatives. The representatives are: Class A Diesel, Class A Gas and Class C motor homes.
